Overview of The Union Foundation
The Union Foundation was founded and constituted in 2004 when God’s vision was cast forth by Rev. Dr. Orlando B. Yates, Senior Pastor of the Union Baptist Church of Cincinnati. The Union Foundation received its status as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 on March 30, 2007, prior to which time, the Board of Trustees was appointed. The Foundation is committed to the generation of resources and services to positively impact the lives of all people in our community and to support the expansion of God’s work. The Union Foundation supports all the ministries of the Union Baptist Church, Inc, in this millennium to enlarge its commitment to Jesus Christ, to His Word, and services relevant to nurturing the holistic person (spirit, soul, mind and body) so as to fulfill the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, through evangelistic ministry programs, and human services that minster to the holistic needs of the varied family structures of the community at large.
The Union Foundation seeks to build upon endowments and donations for present and future ministries at the general and community level of the Union Baptist Church, Inc., through development and planned giving. The Union Foundation encourages individuals to be good stewards of their resources (i.e. time, talents, and monetary gifts). The Union Foundation will strive for excellence and continuous improvement in its operation. The Union Foundation operates with the highest moral and ethical standards. The Union Foundation will initiate efforts to build collaborations and partnerships with other Churches, philanthropic, non-profits, the public sector and business organizations.
In addition, the Foundation will receive and disburse contributions made by individuals and organizations who have designated gifts to specific ministries. Contributions can be made by direct donations and gifts, wills and planned giving, or by memorial gifts. The Union Foundation believes in and is committed to positively impacting the lives of all members of our community. Readers are invited to join as partners in this endeavor only as they feel led by God to do so. We believe that God will meet all our needs through those who respond in this way. The Union Foundation shall endeavor to advance the Kingdom of God in all its fullness to expand the circle of God’s Love as we seek to obey and fulfill Christ’s commandment to; “Love one another as I have loved you.” Jn.15:12
